October 1st 2006 – Downtown Music – Little Rock, Arkansas – Loss / Suplecs/Rwake

Had to call in a question to veteran Little Rock, Arkansans musical historian, Christopher Terry. He sometimes, or all the time that I’ve known him, goes by CT and has been a member of Rwake as far back as it goes. Anyway, I’m glad there are peers of mine that have the memories that they do. I’ve got the pictures dated as October 1, 2006, but looking it over, it also might have been September 30th.

Downtown Music in Little Rock, Arkansas was a magical venue. The amount of shows seen there, crammed in side by side against the sweetest but sometimes, stinkiest people you have ever met, more than 1 less than 1000. I am not being disrespectful because I’ve smelled like the hoagie to end all hoagies, but DTM(I’m lazy and call it that now) had me smelling some kind of some kind of…sorry I think I got a smell-mory.

The night in question, my dumb ass might have had a beer or two, so I’m not going to be able to give full on details. I remember shooting pictures and running a camera. Up first was Loss, from Nashville. Here was where CT rescued me, thank you sir.

Next up, were the men from the bayou, stone kings of The Crescent City , The Suplecs. Love’m , Love’m, Love’em. I did find footage I was able to process of Rock Bottom. (Anyone else remember staying up til 3 in the morning to see the Rock Bottom on MTv?)

And as we close that night, I’ve got a final picture. It’s of a friend of ours that we lost a few years back. He was in Damn Your Eyes, and when I find the pictures from that night I had to post it. Not to bring people down, but to remind us of how fucking wild we were, and some of us still might be.
