    October 19 – 23, 2006 – Downtown Memphis / New Orleans

At this time, we are going to piece together what was going on in October of 2006. The dates from the original files are marked with the time period of the 19th – the 23rd. On to the rememberancamblings of a lowly photographer in training.

Let’s start with a walk down Main Street, Memphis, Tennessee. From North to South,it’s not a long walk, but the amount of sheer waste of space at that time, was something I never really had seen. It’s no wonder all the Vulture Capitalists swooped in through the years and picked through the bones of the remains of the wreckage of the underwater city of Memphis.

The starkness of the Memphis downtown was always interesting to me, so I’m starking off with these pictures.

Heading down I-55 with my buddy <NAME REDACTED>, we head to New Orleans. I assume we were going to show because <NAME REDACTED> and I don’t normally just vacation in a place hotter and more hotter than the hell hole I live in. If <NAME REDACTED> and I are going to New Orleans, we are going to New Orleans.

Here are a few pictures of the New Orleans area we drove through, post-Katrina October 2006.

And now we jump forward a day. I will find whatever show pictures were shot that previous night. I can assure you that it was something that <NAME REDACTED> and I liked.

I digress, I work up early. Sad trait of mine. I bet I felt like warm shit spread on cold toast. I was walking around the Lower Garden District when I stumbled upon what looked like a movie theater front, but instead of movie posters, it was stuffed animals. Wet, sodden, sullied, stuffed animals. Not what I expected the evening after seeing some loud music and being up until you can’t read the time on your phone, but hey it’s New Orleans. Don’t go with any expectations….(I did my search and believe that in the area I was in, it was the Coliseum Theater. If I’m wrong, correct me and I’ll correct me.)

In the lineup was a red head. Ann, or something. Either way, addled, foggy brain takes aim. She’ll get her own gallery.

I think after this we may have had a show. I do know I saw The Prestige in the theater with a few New Orleans friends. After that, I think we visited another friend and I got all arty with some long shutter shots of the sunset and neon signs. Look smug picture of the photographer….
