What else can I say about May 19th, 2011? It was May, in Memphis, and it was at The Hitone. I’ll put money that inside the show, it was going to be a bit warm, Nothing special in the life that it was really worth bringing up, well I can’t bring up shit I don’t know, that’s called lying. Up first, from all parts train yard, The Goddamn Gallows. Like the freight trains of the olden days, The Goddamn Gallows smacked the ever living shit out of anything in their path. Here’s my visual recollections from this evening.
You ever stare death in the eyes and think, yeah I’m not going to make it much longer. I’m still kickin, but the look in Joe Buck’s, Joe Buck Yourself‘s eyes, was enough to show me what the end will look like. This man is a machine. Don’t need anyone to keep time or play bass for him, he did it all himself. Look into the eyes of the end, nothing we can do to stop it but look it straight back in it’s fucking eyes.
You ever think you would be hit with a barbed wire baseball bat like one from Escape From New York? ( Well that bat had a nail, but you get the idea.) Nahh, I didn’t either until that night( Honestly its hyperbole, no members of the audience were harmed from my view, but I’m gonna allow it.) Antiseen, rock and roll royalty from ole South Cacalaca, Kicking faces and breaking hearts since 1983, Antiseen have cultivated a no nonsense approach to music. Loud, fast, in your face, cut face, bleed, repeat. And the blood repeated…
